Importing Plant Information from Excel
Use the Import Plant Information from Spreadsheet action to import new or updated view-specific enterprise data and plant-specific functional data objects from an Excel file. This file is created when you use Export to Excel in the Manage Functional Information window. For more information, see Selecting a Plant for Editing and Editing Plant Information.

The Import Plant Information from Spreadsheet action imports only view-specific enterprise data and plant-specific functional data objects. The action ignores other objects, such as parts.
You cannot use the Import from Spreadsheet action to import view-specific enterprise data and plant-specific functional data objects.
To import plant information, perform the following steps:
1. On the Details page of a product, select Import Plant Information from Spreadsheet from the Actions menu. The Import Plant Information from Spreadsheet window opens.
2. Click Browse and navigate to the Excel file.
3. Click Import.
The job is submitted to the queue and is validated in the background. Check the Import Job Monitor page to confirm that the job succeeds. Resolve errors, if any, in the Excel file and resubmit the job. For more information, see Import Job Monitor and Import Job Information Page.
