The parent part must be checked out to edit usage attributes. Editing any attribute in the Items table automatically checks out the parent part. You must check in the parent part when editing is complete to save the changes you have made. The assembly is not checked in automatically.

Insert Existing
|

|

Opens the Edit Item Attributes window for editing attributes on a usage relationship between a selected part and its parent assembly part.

Assign Usage Expression
|
Opens the Assign Usage Expression window for making option choice selections.

Copy
|
Places a copy of the selected object on the Windchill clipboard so that it can be pasted elsewhere as a new object or reference. For more information about all clipboard actions including paste operations, see The Clipboard Action Set.

Paste
|
Pastes the most recently copied object into the parts list.

Save as default view for display and publishing
|
Replicates a sort order set in the Items tab in the parts list structure tree. For more information, see Reordering Parts List Items.

Item Number
|

References the callout for the part in the illustration associated with the parts list.
The value of this attribute is deleted if the value of the Illustrated attribute is set to No.

Item Number values can contain letters and integers. Items are sorted numerically, with letters following integers.

Item Sequence Number
|
The same Item Number can appear multiple times in a parts list. The value of this value specifies the placing of a specific part in the sequence of occurrences.

Enter an integer number for the part.
|

Indenture
|
A parts list can contain both a subassembly and its child parts. During publishing, when a subassembly's quantity is more than 1, a row is added to the parts list to show that the quantities of the child parts are based on one subassembly.

Enter an integer number for the part. The greater the number, the deeper the indentation.
|
||
Part Number
|
The unique numeric identifier for the part. This attribute can be automatically supplied by a standard part number generator when parts are created in your system.
|

Name
|
The text identifier for the part. Does not have to be unique.
|
|||
Quantity
|
Identifies the quantity of the part used within the assembly.
|
Enter a quantity value for the part.
|
||
Default Unit
|
Unit of measurement for the quantity on the part.
The Service Parts preference Enable Default Unit Editing controls whether this value can be edited.

Select one from the drop-down menu, if editing is permitted.

Serviceable
|
Identifies whether the part can be serviced.
|
Choose Yes if the part can be serviced.

Illustrated
|
Identifies whether the part is illustrated in a representation.
The Item Number attribute identifies the callout in the representation.

Choose No if the part is not illustrated.

|
Comments about the part.
