Configuring the Worker Agent
The Worker Agent communicates with the worker under four possible scenarios. The worker is located either on the same machine as the Worker Agent or on a different machine.
There are four different worker configurations:
Scenario 1: The worker is on the same Windows machine as the Windchill server. See Configuring a Worker on the Same Machine.
Scenario 2: The worker is on the same UNIX machine as the Windchill server. See Configuring a Worker on the Same Machine.
Scenario 3: The worker is on a different Windows machine than the Windchill server. See Configuring a Worker on a Different Windows Machine.
Scenario 4: The worker is on a different UNIX machine than the Windchill server. See Configuring a Worker on a Different UNIX Machine.
For troubleshooting difficulties in Worker Agent communication, see Troubleshooting Start of Workers from the Worker Agent
For configuration guidelines about using network sharing techniques (including Apache, FileZilla, or UNIX FTP and FTPS servers), see Guidelines for Configuring a Worker "Common File System". Similar information is also available in the online help included in the Worker Agent Wizard.
