Working with Package Types
From the Create Package window, a drop-down list of package types is available. Depending on your Windchill configuration as well as your permissions, one or more of the following types may be available:
Package
Technical Data Package
Replication Package
CDRL Package (available if Windchill Aerospace and Defense CDRL/SDRL, CAGE Code, and Unincorporated Change is installed)
SDRL Package (available if Windchill Aerospace and Defense CDRL/SDRL, CAGE Code, and Unincorporated Change is installed)
*
Other types defined by your administrator may also appear.
After selecting a type from the drop-down list, the steps that appear on the Create Package window may change.
Packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, and SDRL packages allow you to choose initially selected objects from which the package content will be developed using a set of collection rules. For more information, see Creating a Package and Creating a CDRL or SDRL.
Replication packages allow you to choose one or more product or library contexts. The replication package content is established based on the contexts selected. All versions of supported objects contained in the selected context or contexts are included in the package for a replication package and further collection rules are not necessary. For more information, see Creating a Replication Package.

If you change the package type or organization identifier after completing other steps, the data you entered on other steps may be lost.
