Format Options
Format options specify the format used to include the package contents into the delivery ZIP file you are creating. Depending on your configuration, the options could be an export-only delivery or a Windchill importable delivery. The format you select is often determined by the business relationship with the recipient and their needs for working with the package contents.
|
The Format Options presented are based on your site’s configuration for the package type. For more information, see Package Type-Based Properties.
|
Use the Format Options field on the Zip Package for Delivery window to specify the format used to include the package contents into the delivery ZIP file. There are two possible options for delivery formats:
• Export Only: Provides a ZIP file that contains package content that displays in an offline viewer or in a manifest, depending on your selected Manifest Options.
|
The Export Only option is only available for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, or SDRL packages.
|
• PTC Windchill: Provides a ZIP file that contains package content in the
Windchill proprietary format based on the supported release version of the target system. A
PTC Windchill delivery can be exported from your system and imported into another
Windchill system as a
received delivery. For more information, see the section “Best Practices for Creating a PTC Windchill 10.2 Formatted Package ZIP File” under
Best Practices for Working with Packages.
|
Objects that were created in a Project or Program context as well as objects that are not owned by your Windchill system cannot be included in the ZIP file for a Windchill delivery. |
The Format Options attribute can be added to the delivery information page. This attribute is not available by default, but can be added to your information page layout.
