Editing an Adapter
This section provides information on how to modify existing Integrity source (SCM) adapters at the site and organization levels.
1. From Site > Utilities or Organizations > Utilities select Adapters Administration in the System Administration section of the page to open the Adapter Administration window.
2. From the Adapter Definition table, select the adapter you want to modify and click Edit . The Adapter Definition window opens displaying the predefined Adapter Type, Adapter Name, and Set Adapter Attributes.

The adapter type and adapter name cannot be modified.
3. Update any of the following Set Adapter Attributes:

No field can be left "blank” except for the Display Name field.
Field

Display Name
The descriptive and unique name to identify the adapter that is easily understood by users. The adapter display name can have special characters and spaces. This field is optional

When creating multiple adapters, do not use identical display names for adapters. This results in not being able to differentiate between multiple display names in the system.
Web Service Path
The path for the WSDL file for the Integrity Source (SCM) adapter describing the Integrity Source Web Services abstractly.
When entering values such as URIs and URLs into the Property Administrator, Info*Engine identifies filepaths using the forward slash (/) as the separator in LDAP entries. The back slash (\) character is used as an escape character.
For example, http://<host>:<port>/webservices/2009/7/Source/?wsdl

Generic Web Service Path
The path for the WSDL file for the Integrity generic adapter describing the Integrity Generic Web Services abstractly.

User Name
The server authenticates the given user name using the corresponding supplied password.
The user name is mandatory only if the Integrity system requires authentication for accessing the files.
If the user name is necessary, enter the user’s existing user name from the Integrity system web server.
Password
The server authenticates the given password using the corresponding supplied user name.
The password is mandatory only if the Integrity system requires authentication for accessing the files.
If the password is necessary, enter the user’s existing password from the Integrity system web server.
Adapter Temporary Files Directory
The predefined directory for temporary adapter files.
4. When finished, select one of the following options:

OK
After clicking OK, the Site > System Administration window displays while the system is saving and loading the modified adapter in the Adapter Definition table.
Cancel
Click Cancel to revoke changes made to the adapter.
A system generated message box states the following. “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Aborting the process of modifying the Adapter results in loss of unsaved data. Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.”
Perform the appropriate action:
To save modifications to the adapter, click Cancel, and then click OK in the Adapter Definition window. When updates are completed, the system returns you to the Adapter Administration window.
Or,
To revoke modifications to the adapter, click OK. The system returns you to the Adapter Administration window.
5. If you updated any of the adapter attributes, restart the Windchill server.

You must restart the Windchill server after updating any of the adapter attributes.
