Working with Control Characteristics in Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser
You can perform the following operations in the control characteristics tab of a Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser:
Add an existing or a new control characteristic
Copy, paste, remove a control characteristic
Search a control characteristic
Update a model item
Customize the control characteristic table view
In order to support and publish Control Characteristics in Windchill MPMLink, an administrator is required perform certain configurations in Creo Parametric and Windchill. You can perform the above mentioned operations in upstream and downstream structures . However, to perform all these control characteristic related actions in the downstream structure of Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser, add the following properties to the mpmlink.properties.xconf file located at com\ptc\windchill\mpml\xconf.
com.ptc.windchill.mpml.copyOver.mapsb.newBranch.create.wt.part.WTPart
com.ptc.windchill.mpml.copyOver.mapsb.newPart.create.wt.part.WTPart
Set the property value to WCTYPE|wt.part.WTPart~MBA|buildTarget@WCTYPE|wt.epm.build.EPMBuildRule. For more information, see Using the xconfmanager Utility.
Control Characteristics Action in Visualization Tab
The following actions related with the control characteristics are available in toolbar of the Visualization tab of Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser:
Select a model item in the visualization area and click Select in tree to highlight the control characteristic, linked with the model item, in the tree structure of Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser.
Click Show All Model Annotations to display all the model items in the visualization area.
Click Hide All Model Annotations to hide all the model items in the visualization area.
Select a model item in the visualization area and click Hide selected to hide the model item in the visualization area.
Click Create Control Characteristic to create a new control characteristic. The new control characteristic is displayed in the in the tree structure of Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser.
Select a model item in the visualization area. Select a control characteristic in the tree structure of Manufacturing Associative Part Structure Browser. Click Link to Control Characteristic to link the model item with the control characteristic.
The above actions related with the control characteristics are also available in the Visualization tab of the Process Plan Browser.
