Using the Process Plan Browser
The Structure tab within the information page of a manufacturing process plan object is known as a Process Plan Browser. You use the Process Plan Browser to create and manage the process plans required to assemble and build manufactured products. The left-side pane displays a hierarchical manufacturing structure for a process plan and other related objects (for example, a work center).
You perform tasks on objects selected in the structure by selecting menu options or icons located in the actions toolbar at the top of the browser. The right-side pane displays information and configuration details about the object that you have selected (highlighted) in the structure.
Actions Toolbar
The actions toolbar appears at the top of the tab just below the Actions menu. The actions in the toolbar are divided into sections called action sets.
The following table describes the toolbar action sets.
Action Set
Description
Editing
Contains actions that modify the structure. Actions include inserting, deleting objects, and editing object and relationship attributes. For more information, see Editing Action Set.
Check Out/In
Includes Check Out, Check In, and Undo Checkout. These actions reserve or release the right to modify objects. Also contains the My Checkouts action to display objects checked out to you. For more information, see The Check Out/In Action Set.
Viewing
Contains actions that change the information displayed in part structure pane. The Playback Actions feature allows you to view the parts and resources that are allocated to the operations and sequences in the order that they are manufactured in a process plan. These objects are displayed in the Visualization task tab of a process plan Structure tab. For more information see Viewing a Process Plan Playback.
The Emphasize Outdated Parts action highlights parts that have not been updated to the latest iteration.
The Isolate Allocated Parts focuses the display on parts that have been allocated.
New/Add To
Contains actions that create new objects from selected objects in the structure tab on the information page. Also allows selected objects in the structure to be added to baselines, packages, promotion requests, or projects.
Filter
Contains actions to view and edit the filters used to display the process plan structure. For more information, see Viewing Filters.
Tree Picker
You use the tree picker to link items together. For example, the tree picker allows you to select an assembly that is related to the process plan displayed in the Process Plan Browser. When the assembly is selected, its structure is displayed in the tree picker, from which you can drag and drop parts onto the process plan as part allocations. Additionally, the related assembly is displayed in a 3D viewer at the bottom of the tree picker. For more information see Using the Tree Picker.
From this action set you can:
Open Tree Picker: Displays the tree picker, from which you can search for and allocate objects.
Open Related Part: Displays a previously related part in the tree picker.
Open Selected: Displays the object selected in the Process Plan Browser in the tree picker.
Related Assembly Filter
Enables you to view and edit the filters that are used to display related assemblies. Only assemblies that match the selected filter criteria are available for display and part allocation.
Tools
Contains actions that allow you to open structures in other applications such as Creo View.
Reports
You use the Reports action to generate the standard structure reports contained in the drop-down menu. The Export action enables you to export the structure information to your workstation in the file formats contained in the drop-down menu.
For more information, see Process Plan Browser Task Tabs.
