Deallocating a Part Instance
The deallocate operation removes the relationship between parent and child part instances. The deallocated part instance is not deleted, its allocation relationship is simply removed from the parent part instance. A deallocated child part instance may be allocated to another parent part instance.
The following criteria must be met to deallocate a child part instance:
The parent part instance revision is not incorporated.
You have modify permission for the parent part instance revision.
Follow these steps to deallocate a part instance:
1. For the part instance being deallocated, select Deallocate from the right mouse button menu.
2. Click Yes on the confirmation message window.
The lot/serial number disappears from the Part Instance column of the part structure and the part master icon is displayed indicating that there is no allocated part instance.
