Using the Insert Existing Action
You use the Insert Existing action to search for and insert part objects into an existing part structure.
To use the Insert Existing action:
1. Click the Insert Existing action icon on the part side Uses tab in the Compare CAD Document to Part window to open the Insert Existing window.
2. In the Insert Existing window, do the following:
a. Enter search criteria to identify the part that you would like to add to the structure.
Enter or select a value in any of the following fields:
Type
Number
Name
End Item
Configurable
Default Trace Code
b. Click Search to initiate the part search. Any matching parts that are found are added into the table at the bottom of the window.
3. Select the part that you want to add to the structure and click OK.
The part is added to the part structure in the Compare Part to CAD Document window.
