Publication States
Publications (S1000D Publication Structures) can exist in one of three states:
• Preview. Unofficial draft publication for the publication administrator’s own purposes.
The latest versions of publication modules are used regardless of workflow state.
• Draft. Official draft publication that is exchanged in the normal draft/review process.
The following publication module workflow states are used:
VERIFICATION REQUIRED
REWORK REQUIRED
ISSUE REQUIRED
ISSUED
DELIVERED
Optionally:
PENDING
WIP
These optional states are selected using Include In-Work Documents on the Create New Publication Structure and Edit Attributes dialog boxes.
Creating a draft publication increments the In Work value of the associated publication module.
• Final. The final version of a publication that is delivered to customers.
The following publication module workflow states are used:
ISSUED
DELIVERED
Creating a final publication increments the issue number of the associated publication module, and sets the In Work value to 00.
