Place
You can place an Arbortext IsoDraw file from Windchill into your Arbortext IsoDraw session.
If you want to preview the file before downloading (placing) it into your active
Arbortext IsoDraw session, refer to the
Previewing Before Downloading for additional information.
It is important not to create a circular relationship when using > . For example,
1. Create a source file, CS1.iso on your local machine.
2. Save, upload and check in the file, CS1.iso to Windchill.
3. Create a target file, CT1.iso from > > , and select the source file, CS1.iso.
4. Save, upload and check in the target file, CT1.iso.
5. Checkout the source file, CS1.iso from > > , and select the target file, CT1.iso and check in to Windchill.
This creates a circular relationship between the source and target files. Subsequently, none of the files forming this circular dependency become up-to-date with each other.
Another example of creating a circular relationship between source and target files is where you have the following illustrations: s1.iso, s2.iso, s3.iso. Here, s1.iso is used as the source file for target s2.iso. s2.iso is used as the source for target s3.iso, and again, s3.iso is used as the source for s1.iso. If you update or modify s1.iso, it becomes out-of-date with s2.iso. If you update s3.iso from s2.iso, the former (s1.iso), becomes out-of-date with s1.iso. This creates a circular relationship between the source and target files. Subsequently, none of the files forming this circular dependency become up-to-date with each other.
| Do not create a circular relationship between source and target files, else files become out-of-date. |
