Explicit mapping occurs when you use Windchill to match a parameter with a global attribute. This is done in the Type and Attribute Management utility. The Type and Attribute Management utility has an Attribute Mapping tab where you map the global attributes. You can add, modify, and remove the mappings. If you change the mappings, it does not affect the existing CAD documents.

Similarly to implicitly mapped parameters, the values from the CAD application are added to the CAD document on upload, and the values of global attributes set in Windchill are reflected in the CAD file on download.
