Setting the BOM Preference in Windchill
As project integrator, you need to make sure that the Default Part Structure Source preference in Windchill has been set to specify whether a BOM object is associated with the physical or logical portion of the project design. You do this using the Windchill Preference Management utility.

It is possible that your Windchill system administrator has already set this preference.

To set the Default Part Structure Source preference:
1. In Windchill, select > > .
The Preference Management window opens.
2. Enter the preference name in the search field at the top of the page and press Enter.
The Default Part Structure Source preference selected and highlighted as shown in the following figure.
3. Right-click the preference and select Set Preference from the actions menu.
The Set Preference window opens as shown in the following figure.
4. Set the Client to Windchill and the Value to either Schematic (the default) or Board.
5. Click OK to set the preference.
