An administrator can specify a location for GDDs generated automatically when illustrations are created from the Parts List Editor. That location can be different to that defined by any Object Initialization Rule (OIR) configured for a GDD.

The new Service Parts preference Illustration Source Folder Location can be set to a folder location in the current product container. Illustration Source objects (Graphic Dynamic Documents/GDDs) generated automatically when creating parts list illustrations from the Parts List Editor are output to this location.

By default, the preference is blank —generated GDDs are hidden.
