Benefit
Shows the list of existing similar parts when user is creating a new classified part. User can either refer existing similar part or continue with creating a duplicate part.
Additional Details
When creating a new classified part, if the classification attribute values of the new part match with the attributes of an existing classified object values, the similar parts are listed in the Existing Similar Parts window.
The Existing Similar Parts window appears only if the Show similar parts when creating a new classified part preference is set to Yes. This preference is available under Part Managementin the Preference Management utility.
Additionally, the Similar Part Create event records whether the user has created a duplicate part when similar parts already exist.
