Inserting a New Control Characteristic
To insert a new control characteristic in the control characteristic tab:
1. Click Insert New. The New Standard Control Characteristic window opens.
2. Specify the following details for a control characteristic:
◦ In Category, select a standard control characteristic type from the menu.
◦ In Name, enter a name for the standard control characteristic.
◦ In Location, click Autoselect Folder if you want the standard control characteristic to be created in the product folder from which you launched the action. Otherwise, click Select Folder and enter a path to an alternate folder.

If your desired type is unavailable in the menu, consult your Windchill administrator to see if your standard control characteristic type can be added.

3. Optionally, enter values in the Description, Long Description, Nominal Value, Upper Limit and Lower Limit fields for your standard control characteristic.
4. Click OK. A record of the control characteristic is created in the table.
