Life Cycle of ICNs
You can manage the life cycle of an Information Control Number (ICN) in your information structure.
The default life cycle of an ICN is:
Pending — Work in Progress — Verification Required — Rework Required — Issue Required— Issued — Delivered — Imported
Actions and tasks that can be carried out at each stage of the life cycle are detailed in this table:

New ICNs include an individual workflow for each life cycle state. Existing ICNs are part of a single monolithic workflow unless their life cycles are reassigned.
State-based Workflows for ICNs
Individual workflow templates for certain life cycle states are provided for an ICN:
• Pending state: S1000D ICN Pending Workflow
• Work in Progress state: S1000D ICN Work In Progress Workflow
• Verification Required state: S1000D ICN Verification Required Workflow
• Rework Required state: S1000D ICN Rework Required Workflow
• Issue Required state: S1000D ICN Issue Required Workflow
• Issued state: S1000D ICN Issued Workflow
• Imported state: S1000D ICN Imported Workflow
