Associate a Parts List with an IPD
Parts lists can be associated with Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) data modules.

As part of the standard workflow, when an associated parts list is altered and checked in, the system notes the associated IPD data modules in the log output.

Associate a parts list with an existing IPD data module
To associate a parts list with an existing IPD data module:
1. From the Information Structure, select the required IPD data module in the Information Element List.
2. Select > from the context menu.
The Edit Document dialog box is displayed.
3. In the
Associate Part List section, click the
button.
The Find Part List dialog box is displayed.
4. Enter the appropriate search criteria for the required parts list and click Search.
All matching parts list are displayed in the Search Results list.
5. Select the required parts list from the Search Results list and click OK.
The selected parts list is displayed in the Associated Part List box.
6. Click Check In.
The selected parts list is associated with the Illustrated Parts Data (IPD) data module.
Associate a parts list with a new IPD data module
Create a new IPD data module.
To associate a parts list with a new IPD data module:
1. Display the Insert New Document dialog box.
2. In the
Associate Part List section, click the
button.
The Find Part List dialog box is displayed.
3. Enter the appropriate search criteria for the required parts list and click Search.
All matching parts list are displayed in the Search Results list.
4. Select the required parts list from the Search Results list and click OK.
The selected parts list is displayed in the Associated Part List box.
