Troubleshooting of ZPA
This topic provides tips on troubleshooting PTC Zuken PDM Adapter issues that can arise after its installation.
Prerequisites
1. After installation, you can check the ZPA version by opening the version file:
<ZPA Installation Dir>\documents\00_PTC_VERSION.txt
2. Ensure that the Zuken system installation tool required for archiving your design is installed on your machine. For example, the Zuken System Designer must be installed on your machine before you can archive the Zuken SD design files.
3. Verify that you have the necessary ZPA and Zuken tool licenses.
4. Verify that the 32-bit JDK8 is installed on your machine.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you encounter any issues with Windchill Workgroup Manager while using ZPA, then you are advised to check the following:
1. Check that you are able to open the design using its designated toolset (standalone) without any error.
2. Use task manager to check if the ZpaServer.exe*32 process is running.
3. Check the functionality of ZPA via CMD to ensure that you can zip the relevant files without any external interactions. This helps you decide if the problem is ZPA or Windchill Workgroup Manager related.
The syntax of the command is as follows:
ZpaCmdTool.exe "ptczpalisting" -input <input_design> -output <output_file> [-createzip yes/no]
Examples:
◦ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zuken PDM Adapter\bin\ZpaCmdTool.exe" ptczpalisting -input "D:\DGsample\sample\sample.cir" -output "D:\ZPAOUT\zip_one" -createzip yes
◦ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zuken PDM Adapter\bin\ZpaCmdTool.exe" ptczpalisting -input "D:\Design_Force\data\dsgn\DF_AUDIO.dsgn" -output "D:\ZPAOUT\zip_two" -createzip yes
If the command returns an error, ensure that you have read and write access to the specified output directory and that and all the specified paths are valid.
If the error persists, run the command as administrator.
Check the ZPA log file <ZPA Installation Dir>\log.log.
4. After installing ZPA, launch the Windchill Workgroup Manager client with the ZPA preference set to ON, and then run ECAD Check In:
◦ If it succeeds, then a log file is not generated.
◦ If ZPA fails, then a log file is generated in the “%Temp%\ZpaOutput” folder.
5. While ECAD Check In is in progress, you can observe that the “Design zip file” is getting generated in the “%temp%\ZpaOutput” folder.
