Previewing Before Downloading
Previewing allows you to preview a Windchill object within an active Creo Illustrate session before opening or placing it into Creo Illustrate. Windchill objects that can be previewed in a Creo Illustrate active session are:
• Creo Illustrate files.
• Graphic dynamic documents.
1. In an active Creo Illustrate session, select > or > .
2. The default directory is your PTC Places folder. If the illustration or graphic dynamic document to preview is not located here, you can search for it.
a. If you know the file name: Browse to and select the file name from the Open window.
b. If you do not know the file name: Enter the search keyword in the Search field of the Open window and click Enter. From the Search Results table, browse to and select the file name you want to preview.
3. Select Preview in the Open window
to view the file before opening or placing it in Creo Illustrate.
a. Click Open if you want to open or import the file in Creo Illustrate.
b. Click Cancel if you want to close the file without opening or placing it.

Updating a source in Creo Illustrate fails if a object that was placed in an illustration is renamed in Windchill during an open session. If this happens, synchronize the workspace, close the Creo Illustrate illustration, reopen it, and update the source again.
