Enabling Remote File Servers
When installing the target system using the PTC Solution Installer, select the option Enable Remote File Server Support on the optional features panel. If the system you are updating uses replica servers, you must first update the target system and then update the Windchill File Server software on the remote servers.
For more information on how to install remote file servers see:
Maintenance Releases and Critical Patch Sets
Maintenance releases or Critical Patch Set updates for a remote File Server are required when either a maintenance release or a Critical Patch Set has been applied to the master site by a Windchill Service Pack. To complete an update on a Remote File Server you must:
• Update the Remote File Server itself
• Update the Third Party products used by the Remote File Server
Updating the Remote File Server
Remote File Server updates are delivered in a file named CcsDsu.zip. This file contains all updates delivered by the Windchill Service Pack.
If the autoManageCCS property in the wt.properties file is set to true, the CcsDsu.zip file is automatically downloaded to the following location on the Remote File Server when the configuration is broadcast: <Windchill>/CCSTools/update.
If the autoManageCCS property is set to false, you must manually transfer the CcsDsu.zip file from the <Windchill>/CCSTools/update folder on the master site into the same folder on the Remote File Server.
After the ZIP file is downloaded to the appropriate location on the Remote File Server, restart the Remote File Server Method Server. This applies the update.
