Many ECAD authoring applications have the ability to create and export a BOM (bill of materials). A BOM is simply a listing of all the parts used in a design along with associated data such as quantity, part number, layer, reference designator, and so on. Typically, ECAD authoring applications export this data in the form of a CSV (comma-separated value) file. When using Windchill Workgroup Manager for Cadence Team Design Option, it is certainly possible to import a BOM CSV file into your workspace, check it into Windchill, and associate it with its source design.

However, you can generate and associate a BOM with a design using a single process by selecting the design object from the Cadence Team Design Option dashboard.
