Package Content Table
The Package Content table allows you to manage the objects contained within the package. It also provides a central location for accessing information about the content in the package. This table appears on the Package Content tab of a package information page.
For packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, or SDRL packages, each object is either an initially selected object or a collected object. Initially selected objects are those that are added explicitly using the
Add to Package action. Collected objects are included automatically based on the collection rules and filters set on the package when they are applied to the initially selected objects. If a
managed collection is included in the package contents, it can be expanded to show the set of objects it contains. Each managed collection can also have its own initially selected or collected objects that can be modified from the managed collection information page.
For replication packages, the list of objects includes all objects in the selected contexts to which the user who added the context has access.
|
When an object in the package contents is deleted from Windchill, the Package Content table preserves a record regarding the inclusion of the object in the package. If an object is listed in the Package Content table with identifying information but does not include an object icon, the object has been deleted.

Columns
Columns available in the Package Content table give you basic information about each object in the table. Columns such as Name, State, and Last Modified appear.
Depending on your table view, additional columns may appear. For example, the Collection column identifies the managed collection or package of the object. The Initially Selected column shows whether the object is an initially selected object or a collected object for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, or SDRL packages. The Filtered column lists the reason the object is excluded or included in the package, technical data package, CDRL package, or SDRL package. Possible values include:
• Context Filter for objects that were removed because of their parent context
• Manual Exclude for objects that were removed using the exclude action
• Manual Include for objects that were removed because of filters, but added back using the include action
| When applying filters, consider the data you have collected. Make sure you are not filtering out objects that are required to accurately display the information. Consider this particularly for packages that contain structures, baselines, and CAD documents. |
| The Filtered column will not show included or excluded information about objects if you are viewing a replication package. Manually included or excluding information is not supported for replication packages. |
You can change the columns that appear by creating a new view. For example, you may want to create a view to show only excluded or included objects for your technical data package. To show only excluded objects, you would add a view filter with the
Collects and
Excluded columns with values of
Yes and the
Match All checkbox unchecked. To show only included objects, add a view filter with the
Excluded column with a value of
No. The
Collects and
Excluded columns do not need to be displayed when used in a view filter. For more information, see
Customizing Table Views.
If your site has enabled the edit filters action
on the
Package Content table, objects that are filtered out of the package appear with a strike-through. To see the applied filter for each row, you can display the
Filtered column by creating a new view with that column.
Actions
Actions are available at the top of the table as well as through the right-click menu for each object in the table. These actions impact the package contents; they have no impact on the attributes or content of the listed objects. Depending on if the package is locked, your permissions, and the package configuration, the following table lists actions that might be available on Package Content table.
Action | Description |
Add to Package | Open the Add to Package window to add or remove relevant objects from the set of initially selected objects or modify the collection options for the package. The package content is automatically refreshed when changes to the initially selected objects or collection options are saved. Content refresh includes applying the collection options to the initially selected objects to gather related data. For more information, see Adding Content to a Package. |
Edit Filters | Modify the filters applied to the package contents. Changing the applied filters using the Edit Filters action does not refresh the package contents. For more information, see Editing Package Filters. This action is available for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, and SDRL packages. | Depending on the configuration of your site and the package type, this action may not appear. |
|
Exclude | Exclude all iterations of an object from the package that were not otherwise filtered out using the edit filters action or the include action . Excluded objects appear with a strike-through in the Package Content table. This action is available for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, and SDRL packages. | This action is not available for managed collections that are included in a package. You can exclude objects within a managed collection that is included in a package. |
|
Filter Properties | View the filters currently applied to the package. This action is available for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, and SDRL packages. |
Include | Includes all iterations of an object in the package that was otherwise filtered out using the edit filters action or the exclude action . This action is available for packages, technical data packages, CDRL packages, and SDRL packages. |
Lock Package | Lock the package so objects cannot be added to or removed from its contents. A package must be locked before a ZIP file can be created for an associated delivery. For more information, see Locking a Package. |
Refresh Package | Refresh the content in the package. Depending on the collection options set on the package, this may add objects, remove objects, or include different versions of existing objects. |
Select Files | Depending on the configuration of your site, this action may be required for a locked package. Select which files to include with the package prior to creating a ZIP file. All objects that have associated files, such as an attachment or a CAD drawing, are listed in the Files table. | Depending on the configuration of your site and the package type, this action may not appear. |
