Viewing a Work Instruction
A work instruction is a dynamically generated HTML page that combines process plan information (sequences, operation, part allocation, resource allocation, time, etc.) and all related documents such as drawings, images and 3D sessions with annotations.
Work instructions can be used on a manufacturing shop floor as a step by step guide on how to produce, inspect, repair or maintain parts. Because they are dynamically generated any change made to a process plan, operation or sequence is immediately accessible to a shop floor worker, ensuring that the most up-to-date manufacturing information is available at all times.
|
Work instructions are generated according to the navigation criteria (configuration specification and option rules) set using the Preferences and Edit Filter windows. For example, work instructions can be generated so that only the operations meeting an effectivity criteria are displayed. If a process plan has multiple related assemblies the work instructions displays the part allocations from the active assembly.

Creating illustrations for work instructions is done by
creating an illustration for an operation. Images can also be added to an operation as document file, and then selected to be displayed as work instruction. Documents that have been selected to appear in the work instruction are noted on the
Documentation tab.

When you click an illustration in a work instruction, the illustration opens in Creo View. If the illustration was created in Creo Illustrate, the image is read-only. Repositioning and annotation updates made in Creo View are not saved for those illustrations created in Creo Illustrate.
