MPMLink Explorers
Windchill MPMLink Explorers are used to view, modify, and organize manufacturing objects. Each Windchill MPMLink Explorer consists of a multi-pane panel, that displays all Windchill MPMLink objects. The left-side navigation pane displays a hierarchical structure (representing a manufacturing process plan, manufacturing resources, or manufacturing standards). The right-side pane is organized by various explorer-specific tabs that can be used to view and configure manufacturing objects.
You can perform tasks on these structures by selecting from the
menus or icons at the top of the window. The right-side pane displays information pertaining to the selected object in the navigation pane, which is displayed on the different
tabs.

Black arrows appear between the two panes. Click on an arrow to display one pane in the entire window. Also, selecting and holding the left mouse button in the region below the arrows allows the divider to be dragged. The attributes that display in the columns of the structure are dependent on the object selected in the navigation pane.

When you install Windchill MPMLink on your Windchill PDMLink system, the following explorers are installed:
• Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer
This explorer gives you the ability to define manufacturing product structure processes, which are the specifications created for handling material during the execution of operations when manufacturing, repairing, inspecting or maintaining parts in their plants and can be used to manage the associations between different BOMs.
• Process Plan Explorer
This explorer gives you the ability to define process plans, which are the detailed descriptions of what needs to be done on the shop floor in order to produce, inspect, repair or maintain a given part or assembly.
• Manufacturing Standards Explorer
This explorer gives you the ability to define an enterprise standardized method of performing a specific process. This process can be described and documented and have compatibility links to resources. This explorer also allows you to create manufacturing standard groups, which are used to organize manufacturing capabilities and standard procedures into a navigable hierarchy.
• Manufacturing Resource Explorer
This explorer gives you the ability to define and manage the physical and human resources required to manufacture products. These resources could include plants, manufacturing resources, and resource groups.
• Creo View
This explorer enables you to view 3D models, drawings, and images pertaining to parts and structures.
• Manufacturing Gantt Explorer
This explorer gives you the ability to define and manage the scheduling of process plans, including the start and finish dates for operations, and the allocation of resources.
