To create ACLs in the GUI
1. Select the project, subproject, or member you want to view ACLs for.
2. Select one of the following:

The View Permissions window opens.
3. Select the project, subproject, or member in the ACL tree that you want to create ACL for.
You can create ACLs for the nodes in the ACL tree that do not have ACLs.

• The projects, subprojects, or members that do not have ACLs are indicated by the or icons in the ACL tree. • You can define an ACL in the ACL tree depending on the permissions provided by your administrator. |
4. Select > .
Alternatively, right-click the project, subproject, or member in the ACL tree that does not have an ACL and select Create ACL.
The Select ACL Entries to Add window opens. The first valid ACL in the ACL tree displays in the ACL Name field. The available permissions for this ACL display in the Permissions list.
5. Optionally, clear the Inherit ACL Permissions check box to break inheritance of permissions from the parent at this node.
6. Select the principal (a group or user) you want to add the new entry for in the principal list.
7. In the Permissions list, define the permissions by clicking the indicator box and toggling through the condition indicators until the box displays the required condition.
The following condition indicators apply:
◦ A green plus (+) sign indicates that the permission is allowed.
◦ A red minus (-) sign indicates that the permission is denied.
◦ A blank box indicates that the permission is cleared.
You can also click Allow All to allow all permissions, Deny All to deny all permissions, and Reset to clear all permissions.
8. Click OK.
The ACL is created and PTC RV&S updates the icon of the project, subproject, or member in the ACL tree.

You can also enable or disable ACL inheritance for a selected project, subproject, or member after creating the ACL. You can use the ACL Inheritance check box on the shortcut menu or the ACL menu to enable or disable ACL inheritance.
