Viewing Administration History
Setting up workflows and documents involves modifying a number of administrative objects to customize the configuration to suit your work environment. Workflow and document administrative objects are users, groups, dynamic groups, projects, states, types, fields, triggers, change package types, and change package attributes. Whenever changes are made to these objects, PTC RV&S tracks the changes and then provides reports on the change history through the PTC RV&S Administration Client.
Using the PTC RV&S Administration Client, you can view the record of changes through the History tab in the associated view for each administrative object. The administrative history displays when you are editing or viewing an administrative objects.
You can also access information in the history through the CLI. To view the history, use the –showHistory option when viewing or editing administrative objects. By default, the view and edit commands do not display any history information. For more information on the CLI, see the CLI man pages.
In the PTC RV&S Administration Client, the History tab displays the changes in chronological order from the first to the most recent and lists the complete record of changes for that object. The record of changes is also stored in the PTC RV&S database.

If you are upgrading from an earlier release, the history of changes is not shown from the previous installation.

Information displayed under the History tab includes:
• user who made the change and the associated date/time information
• property of the object that was modified (for example, State object properties include name, description, image, capabilities, and the history of position or sequence changes)
• type of change that was made (one of Changed To, Added, or Removed)
• value associated with the modification

Whenever a user is automatically created during logon, system is shown as the creator of that user.
