Backing Up and Restoring Derby Database
You should already have established procedures for regular backups of the master database. If not, do back up your database now.

Due to concerns about scalability and robustness, PTC recommends that Derby not be used for production servers. Windchill RV&S supports Derby on pure-proxy FSA servers (servers that do not host a repository) only.
