To apply a service pack
1. Upload the service pack zip file to the machine Agent Windchill RV&S was installed on.
2. Shut down the server.
3. From a shell on the machine where the server was installed, setup and run the PatchServer utility (setup being setting the MKS_SERVICE_PACK environment variable to point to the service pack zip file).
The service pack is unpacked applied to the server installation. The client service pack and Agent Windchill RV&S service pack are placed into the proper directories on the server so they can be automatically downloaded by the client and agent respectively.
4. Start the Server.
The next time that the server establishes a connection to the Agent Windchill RV&S it checks to see if there is a new service pack that should be applied, if there is it is pushed to the Agent Windchill RV&S system and the Agent Windchill RV&S is automatically restarted.
