Copying and Exporting Data
Windchill RV&S supports copying and exporting data from all the tabular fields in the Refreshed Web Interface.
You can copy and export data from the following tables:
• Tables on the Home page
• Tables in the Item View
◦ Lineage tabs
• Content pane in DocStudio
• Relationship Viewer
• Cross-cutting Perspective view
You can copy and export content by right-clicking any cell in a table.
Copy Content
To copy row content, right-click any cell in the table and do the following:
• Select Copy to copy the row content.
• Select Copy With Headers to copy the row content along with column headers.

• Only content from rich text content fields is copied as plain text.
• You can copy field values of multiple cells using CTRL + Click.
• You can also copy cell content using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C.

Export Content
The export feature in the Refreshed Web Interface extracts the most current data in a readable format from all the viewable columns in a table. To export content, right-click any cell in the table and select Export All. Options to export the content in CSV or Excel format are provided. When column filters are applied, only the filtered data is exported.
The Export All option is available in the search results page. Click 
to export the search results in CSV, XML, or Excel(.xlsx) format.
to export the search results in CSV, XML, or Excel(.xlsx) format.| | • Only content from rich text content fields is exported as plain text. • If you open an exported CSV (or Excel) file by double-clicking the file or by performing a drag-and-drop operation onto an open Microsoft Excel instance, some text fields might become unreadable because of the Number format that is automatically applied by the software. For instance, relationship fields with a comma-separated list of relationships in a single field. In such instances, to open the file, instead of a double-click or drag-and-drop operation, use the Excel Text Import Wizard. Then select Text as the format for the column that must not appear as numeric. For more information on the Text Import Wizard see the Microsoft documentation. |
| | • If you are working on an iPad Pro, you need to long press the selected cell to get the Copy, Copy With Headers, and Export All options. • You can copy and export contents of multiple cells using CTRL+Click. However, multiple cell selection is not possible on an iPad Pro. • The Export All option is not supported on the Home page, Item View and, Relationship view on an iPad Pro. |
The following field types do not support the copy and export operations:
• Incoming External Reference (IER)
• Item Backed Picklist (IBPL)
• Date
