Creating a Related Item in the View Mode
You can create a related item in the following views:
• Home Page.
• Global Search Results table.
• Relationship View for an item.
• Relationship Explorer.
• To create a related item in the item view, click 
in the item view header and select Create Related Item.

1. Select an item and click

.2. The Create Related Item window opens.
3. Select Item Type or Relationship.
◦ To create a related item using an item type, select Item Type.
a. Select the required item. The relationship for the selected item type become available in the Add Relationship to field list.
b. Select the required relationship.
◦ To create a related item using a relationship, select Relationship.
a. Select the required relationship. The allowed types for the selected relationship become available in the Item Type list.
b. Select the required item type.
4. Select the Copy Fields check box. Common fields and copy fields for the selected item are displayed. This check box is selected by default.
5. Add the required fields from the Common Fields list to the Copy Fields list.
 | • Default Copy Fields for the selected item type defined by the administrator are pre-populated in the Copy Fields list. You can move these default copy fields to Common Fields if they are not required. For details, see im copyissue. • You can continue creating a related item without copying common fields. The Proceed button remains enabled. |
6. If you selected a process item under Item Type in step 3, go to step 8.
If you selected a content item, click Next The Select Document step window opens. The Select Document table lists the available documents in which the related item can be created.
7. Select a document in the list. If the document is not visible in the Select Document table, click Show More to display the next set of documents in the Select Document table. Alternatively, use column header filters to only display the required documents. Then select a document from the list.
8. Click Proceed.
The Untitled Item window opens displaying the selected copy fields with their values. Enter the required details and click Save.
| | • The Create Related Item option is not enabled for the items viewed in asOf mode. • The Create Related Item option is enabled for the version items, if the version edit fields contains the relationship fields. |
