Installing FSA
To set up FSA, you need to follow the instructions for installing the Windchill RV&S server and then configure that server as a proxy. For detailed instructions on installing the Windchill RV&S server, see the Windchill RV&S Installation and Upgrading Guide.
|
Generally, you can choose to use the embedded database for the proxy installation. Because the proxy gets its configuration management information from the host server, local database storage is minimal.
|
For a remote proxy, the installation must be performed on a separate machine. For a peer-to-peer configuration, the FSA can be configured on the same machine.
Setting Up FlexNet
Once you complete the server installation, the next step is to configure FlexNet licensing for FSA. FlexNet licensing for FSA is separate from the Windchill RV&S server. The FlexNet server you use to support any standard installation can also be used to support licensing for FSA; however, users connecting through a proxy to the Windchill RV&S server should be licensed on the central Windchill RV&S server.
Consult your license file to see if you are licensed to implement FSA.
One license key per proxy is required. User licenses are only required at the location of the Windchill RV&S server, not at the proxy location.
Each proxy must access a FlexNet server. Depending upon your network implementation and security, you may require one FlexNet server per proxy. For more information on licensing, see the Windchill RV&S Installation and Upgrading Guide.
