Adding an Existing Parameter
You can add existing parameters while creating or editing an item, or while creating a related item in Item View and in DocStudio.
1. Open the item in the Item View or in DocStudio.
2. Click Edit.
To add an existing parameter in the Item View:
In the Item Edit view, navigate to the tab that contains the Parameter field and click  in the Parameters table.
The Add - Parameter window opens.
To add an existing parameter in DocStudio:
In the DocStudio edit mode, navigate to the Parameters field and click in the Parameters table.
If there are no previously added parameters, the Add - Parameter window opens.
If there are existing parameters, the Edit - Parameters window opens.
Click .
The Add - Parameter window opens.
3. Select Existing.
This option is selected by default.
A list of parameters from the top-level hierarchy and those that are defined in the current item are listed.

You can add parameters only from the top hierarchy.
4. Select the parameters to be added and click Add.

• In DocStudio, the Edit - Parameters window opens. The selected parameters are added in the Parameters table.
• Click Proceed.
The selected parameters are added to the Parameters table and become a part of the item being edited. The Defined In column of the Parameters table displays the ID of the item in which the parameter is defined.

A check box is not available to select parameters that are previously added.
