Global Undo and Redo Operations
Item edit in the Refreshed Web Interface allows you to undo or redo changes before you save. Changes can also be undone or redone across tabs.
On clicking Edit in the Item View, the Undo icon and the Redo icon appear in the disabled mode in the toolbar area. These icons get enabled when you change any of the field values and click outside the area of the editable field.
Any Undo or Redo action reverts the changed value back to the previous value. To undo or redo a change, you must click outside the area of the editable field after making changes, and then click either the Undo or Redo icon per your requirement.
*
On performing Undo or Redo operations, the entire change made to the field value is either undone or redone. For example, if you type five words in a Short Text field, and perform an Undo action, all the five words are removed. A Redo action inserts all the five words that were removed as a result of the Undo operation.
When you click Undo, the following operations occur:
On using an Undo or Redo operation when working across multiple tabs, the previous value for the field is loaded and the tab containing the field becomes the active tab.
For a mandatory field, if there is no value after an Undo operation, a warning appears stating that a value is required.
If there is no change to the original value after an Undo operation, the area of the editable field is no longer highlighted.
*
When all changes are undone, the Undo icon is disabled.
The Save and Apply options remain enabled after performing an Undo operation for all the fields. You must click Save to return to the Item View mode.
The Redo icon is enabled when any change is undone. When you click Redo, the following operations occur:
The last undone value for a field is loaded and the tab corresponding to that field becomes the active tab.
For a mandatory field, if there is no value after a Redo operation, a warning appears stating that a value is required.
If there is no change to the original value after a Redo operation, the area of the editable field is no longer highlighted.
The Redo icon is disabled when all changes are redone. It is also disabled when you interrupt an Undo operation and restart editing, or when there are no actions to redo.
