Working With Source Link Fields
Using Source Links in Source Link Fields
If your ViewSet contains both an Edit Item view and a Sandbox or Project view (mainline or variant), you can add a source link using drag-and-drop. Edit the item you want to create a source link for, click the file you want to add a link to in the Sandbox or Project view, and then drag it to the source link field on the target item.
To view source link details in the GUI:
• If the source link field is in table format, right-click the source link and select View Member History.
|
You cannot launch the member history view for a source link in the Web interface.
|
• If the source link field is in comma separated values format, click on the source link.
Using Source Traces in Source Link Fields
If your ViewSet contains both an Edit Item view and a Sandbox or Project view (mainline or variant), you can add a source trace using drag-and-drop. Edit the item you want to create a source trace for, click the file you want to add a trace to in the Sandbox or Project view, and drag it to the source link field on the target item.
You can view details for source traces in the field. This enables you to see any other items that may be traced to the same source file revision, and open and edit those items if required. For example, you can see what other requirements in a requirements document have traces to the same source file revision. This helps you analyze the impact of changing a requirement.
To view source trace details in the GUI:
• If the source link field is in table format, right-click the source trace and select View Source Trace.
• If the source link field is in comma separated values format, click on the source trace.
|
You cannot view details for source traces in the Web UI.
