For Windchill RV&S, the person who sets up and configures Windchill RV&S is referred to as the Windchill RV&S server administrator. Administrators can also delegate certain tasks related to projects for workflows and documents and types to a project administrator and type administrator.

Administrators are responsible for setting up Windchill RV&S, and have access to all admin provided objects. For day-to-day management, once Windchill RV&S is configured you may want to delegate a subset of administrative responsibilities by allowing certain users to manage projects and types. Windchill RV&S allows you to limit access to these two key workflow and document objects and, in this way, delegate responsibilities for the associated management tasks.

You can delegate certain administrative tasks by assigning specific administrators to them. You assign a Windchill RV&S project administrator through the New Project or Edit Project function. You assign a Windchill RV&S type administrator using the New Type or Edit Type function.
