To apply a service pack
1. Upload the service pack zip file to the machine Windchill RV&S Agent was installed on.
2. Shut down the server.
3. From a shell on the machine where the server was installed, setup and run the PatchServer utility (setup being setting the MKS_SERVICE_PACK environment variable to point to the service pack zip file).
The service pack is unpacked applied to the server installation. The client service pack and Windchill RV&S Agent service pack are placed into the proper directories on the server so they can be automatically downloaded by the client and agent respectively.
4. Start the Server.
The next time that the server establishes a connection to the Windchill RV&S Agent it checks to see if there is a new service pack that should be applied, if there is it is pushed to the Windchill RV&S Agent system and the Windchill RV&S Agent is automatically restarted.
