This section details the policy configuration options for configuration management. Policies are configured through the Windchill RV&S administration client; therefore, you must first install the Windchill RV&S administration client to configure policies on the server.

By modifying policy options on the Windchill RV&S server, you can configure the functionality of configuration management across an entire site and for specified individual projects.

The Windchill RV&S administration client provides a policy editor for editing, creating, copying, viewing, and deleting configuration management policies. Editing global policies affects the operation of configuration management on a site-wide basis, while creating a new project policy section allows you to customize the behavior of configuration management for the project you specify.
