Restoring Embedded Derby Database
In the event of problems, you can restore an existing embedded database using the automatically created daily backup or another backup you have created.
To restore the embedded Derby Database:
1. Stop the Windchill RV&S server.
2. Create a secondary backup of the installdir/data/derby.db directory by copying it to a new directory. Retain the copied directory in case it is needed for analysis at a later date.
3. Copy the contents of the /installdirdata/derby.db/backup directory to the installdir/data/derby.db directory.

Copying the database files retains the original backup files in a separate directory and therefore helps to ensure the integrity of your data.

4. Restart the Windchill RV&S server.
