Translating Fields
Translations can be added for the fields for the locales that are set in the localization property.
There are two ways to add the translations:
• Editing the field from the Windchill RV&S administration client GUI
• Exporting and importing field translations

1. From the Fields view, open the Create Field or Edit Field window.
2. Select the Display Name and Description field, type the display name and description, respectively. The string inputs are stored in the client locale.

Fields with the same display names result in an error in the context of a Type. Two fields can have a same display name, but cannot be added to the visible fields to the same Type. Display names must be unique in the context of a type’s visible field. You cannot make two fields with the same display name (in any language) visible on a single type.

3. To save your changes, click OK.
To Export and Import Field Translations
The following Field attributes are available for translation:
• Display Name
• Description
