Inserting Images
In a rich content field, you can insert images that are on a file system, attached to the current item, or referenced by a URL.

1. Click the location where you want to insert the image and click the insert image icon in the rich content toolbar. The Insert Image window opens.

When Attachment Image is selected, you select an image in an attachment field for the current item.

3. Optionally, specify Alternate Text, Layout, and Spacing options for the image.
4. Click OK.

Key Considerations
Adding an image:
You can type the file path or browse to the file on your local system or across the network.
You can add one image file at a time.
You can only add image file types, for example, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIF. If the file is not a valid image file type, a broken image icon displays.
If the image must be added to the attachment field, this operation is performed silently without any required action.
When inserting an image, the attachment fields that you are allowed to use for the rich content field display. Visibility and type restrictions affect which attachment fields are shown.
When an image file is inserted as an attachment in the Web interface, the image file initially displays as the pending attachment icon . After the item is saved, the icon displays as the image that you inserted.
Image behavior:
To improve performance in the GUI, attachment images do not display on the History tab.
Once an image is saved with the item, the inserted image can be resized or moved by dragging.
URL links to files on local file systems are converted to attachments. However, files from remote file systems are not converted to attachments.
If a name of an inserted attachment or image contains an ampersand (&), Windchill RV&S replaces the & with %26. This occurs even if the file is added as a URL or pasted.
In the GUI, double-clicking an inserted image or attachment opens the Edit Attachment window, allowing you to make changes. In the Web interface, double-clicking an inserted image or attachment does not open this window.
To change image properties in the GUI, select the image and then click in the rich content toolbar to open the Image Properties window. Edit the Layout, Size, and Attributes options.

Removing an image:
