To define item editability for a type in the GUI

im createtype, im copytype, im edittype
1. From the Create Type, Copy Type, or Edit Type dialog box, click the Item Editability node. The Item Editability panel displays.
2. Do one of the following:
◦ Under Condition, define the conditions this type should be editable under.
For information on the available operators and rule structure, see “Defining Rules”. For information on using the data filter, see “Filtering Data”.
◦ Under Copy, do one of the following:
▪ Click Add to copy editability rules from another type. The copied rules are appended to any existing rules.
▪ Click Replace to copy editability rules from another type to replace any existing rules.
The Rule Selection dialog box displays.
▪ In the Objects with Rules list, select the type that you want to copy a rule from. If the type has a rule, that type displays in the Preview area.
▪ Click OK. The rule displays in the Editability panel.
3. Click OK to save the item editability rule(s) for the type.
