Methods of Priming the Cache
You can prime the proxy cache in the following ways.
Run si primeproject on a new proxy server in its remote location, using the internet or VPN to populate the proxy cache with data from the Windchill RV&S server.
Run si primeproject on a new proxy server in the same location as the Windchill RV&S server, using the local area network to populate the proxy cache with data from the Windchill RV&S server. After the proxy server is primed locally, the proxy machine or hard disk can be installed at the remote site. Upon installing and starting the proxy machine, only updates are required for the cache and there is no requirement to transfer the majority of bulk data across the slower connection. You could use this method if you have a very large project or if your communications to the remote office are not reliable.

Run si primeproject on the Windchill RV&S server to prime the server cache before priming a new proxy. The caches on the server and the proxy might not be equivalent because of different usage patterns. By priming the server before priming the proxy you insure that the information is as close as possible.
Run si primeproject on an existing proxy server to populate the proxy cache for specified projects. You could use this method to prime the proxy with new projects or projects with significant new data.

The priming operation can be completed during non-work hours to avoid significant delays for users.
