Configuring Message Options for the Document View
In the Options window, the Messages tab displays options for specifying which messages to show when working in a root segment in the Document view.
Mandatory field message
Mandatory field message has only one option.
Show the mandatory field information popup displays a message for a mandatory field that has no value. The default message indicates the name of the mandatory field which requires a value before a save can occur. The color for mandatory fields is specified on the Colors tab.
Document message
Document options specify the messages that you want to show as you work with document content.
Show a message when entering a sub document displays a message so that you can easily identify the subdocument that you have opened. The associated document icon and tooltip are also shown in the row header. Document change message provides for creating a custom message to display more specific information. When you click Fields, you can insert additional fields in the message text. For example, you can insert {Type}:{ID} if you want the message to display the type and ID of the subdocument.
Show a message when all content is selected and a sub document is part of the selection displays a message when you select all contents of a document that includes a subdocument. The message displays the type and ID of the subdocument. In addition to pressing CTRL+A, you can use any of the following methods to select all document nodes:
With the first row already selected, press SHIFT and click the last row.
With the last row already selected, press SHIFT and click the first row.
With the first row already selected, press CTRL+SHIFT+END.
With the last row already selected, press CTRL+SHIFT+HOME.
Not editable field message
Not editable field message has only one option.
Show the not editable field information popup displays a message when you attempt to edit a non-editable field.
