Subversion Installation and Configuration
This section contains instructions on how to install Subversion software on a server or client machine for the purpose of integrating the software with Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software.
Local Versus Remote Subversion Integration
The Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software integration with your Subversion software can be a local or remote installation.
• A local installation is where your Subversion software is installed on the same machine as Windchill, including the installation of Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software.
• A remote installation is where your Subversion software is installed on a different machine from where Windchill, including the installation of Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software is installed. A remote installation also requires the installation of the Windchill Web Services Support, the Windchill Web Services API and the Windchill to Subversion Adapter downloads available from the PTC Software Downloads page. These packages enable your Subversion software the ability to communicate with Windchill and Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software.
Installing Subversion Software
Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software is compatible with Subversion 1.6 software and javahl.jar 1.6. If you have Subversion 1.7 software installed on the Windchill server, you must convert that installation back to Subversion 1.6 software. Customers with a Subversion 1.7 server can have Subversion 1.6 software installed on the Windchill server for Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software. This configuration is possible because Subversion software and the Windchill server software are interoperable across different versions and platforms.

Administrators installing Subversion adapters using the Adapters Administration utility in Windchill can connect the Subversion adapter with the Subversion 1.6 or 1.7 server using the “Repository URL” field.

If You Already Have Subversion Software Installed
If you already have
Subversion software installed, ensure that you installed and configured the software as recommended in
Installation.

If You Are Installing Subversion Software for the First Time
Install the Subversion software on the same host machine as Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software.
