Editing Standard Control Characteristics in Windchill MPMLink
You can edit a standard control characteristic from its Folder page using the Check Out and Edit action located on the object row right-click menu. This action is also available on the Actions menu of the Detail tab located on the object’s Information page.
To edit the attributes of a standard control characteristic:
1. From the Folder page of the standard control characteristic, right-click in the object row.

In the Detail tab of the Information page for the standard control characteristic object, click Actions.
2. Select Check Out and Edit from the menu to modify the value of one or more of the following attributes:
◦ Description
◦ Long Description
◦ Nominal Value
◦ Upper Limit
◦ Lower Limit
The standard control characteristic is checked out and the Edit Standard Control Characteristic window opens as shown in the following figure.
3. Edit the attribute values as desired.
| Click Save to incrementally save new values while leaving the window open to continue editing. |
4. Click Check In
The new attribute values are saved and the standard control characteristic object is checked back into Windchill.
