Configuration Context Overview
A configuration context is a filtered selection of parts within a product part structure. It enables you to work on subassemblies and components of a known product configuration that are relevant to a specific design task. You specify the parts to be included in the configuration context using a combination of part structure filters and part selection. Creo View is a valuable tool for verifying that the parts included in the configuration context are exactly what you need.
You can also create a design context from the configuration context to further refine the selection of parts needed for the task. The design context collects all the related CAD documents that you need to work on and places them in your workspace ready to be opened in your CAD authoring environment.
