Activating a Workspace
When working within a registered authoring application, activation of a workspace causes all subsequent saves from your authoring application session to occur to that workspace. Only one workspace can be active at any time for a registered server.
*
The concept of an active workspace does not apply when working outside of Creo Parametric or the Windchill Workgroup Manager, for example, when accessing Windchill in a standalone browser.
You can activate a workspace upon creation. To create a new workspace, see Creating a New Workspace.
To activate an existing workspace:
1. Navigate to a page listing the workspaces for your server (one containing the My Workspaces table) by selecting the Workspaces link on your current tab.
2. In the My Workspaces table, select the activate workspace icon in the Actions column of the workspace you want to activate.
A confirmation message appears asking if you are sure you want to change the workspace on the current server. If you are activating another workspace on the same primary server, you are asked if you want to erase all objects in the current session.
3. Alternatively, if you type the URL of an unregistered server in the browser address line and navigate to the My Workspaces table, you can see activate workspace icons for all the listed workspaces. When you select an activate workspace icon for a workspace, the confirmation message asks if you want to add this server to the list of servers. It also asks if you want to make this server primary.
*
Switching workspaces on the same server requires the erasure of objects currently in session memory. (Windchill PDMLink,Windchill ProjectLink, or Pro/INTRALINK only).
