Yes
Associated life cycles are supported, but the target system must have the corresponding life cycle template.
When a document is exported, the name of the life cycle template it uses is exported. The actual life cycle template is not exported. The assumption is that the target system has a life cycle template with the same name, so the document is linked to the life cycle template on the target system.
You can directly export or import a life cycle template from Life Cycle Template Administration, but this is independent of documents, parts, and so on.

The name of the workflow template is imported or exported, not the template. It is assumed that the target system has a workflow with the same name.
The LoadLifecycle loader also only loads the template and the names of workflow templates for phases and gates.
LoadLifecycle is typically run after LoadWorkflow, so the associations between a phase and a workflow template are created on the LoadLifecycle load.
